C. KNOWN ISSUES
The following known issues exist in release 3-0-0-265:
-WGWEAR-3007 1P 2P Auto Stop Timer not cleaned up properly
on Covert Exit
When Auto Stop is enabled in Covert mode, the display is not
properly cleaned up. Upon exiting Covert mode, the auto
stop timer is shown instead of going back to normal mode.
Pressing the backlight button or starting and stopping a new
recording will clear this problem.
-WGWEAR-2702 SYS: ERR 37 on 2-piece for state capture
attempt via transfer station
Issue: Error 37 may be observed in the docking station.
There are three primary ways this can occur:
1) Seating/Mechanical 2) USB host mode driver failure
3) During state capture.
Workaround: Recommend to reseat the VISTA in the docking
station to attempt to clear the mechanical issue. If
reseating the VISTA is unsuccessful in resolving the issue,
power cycle the device and then reseat.
-WGWEAR-2004 UPGRD: Unable to upgrade VISTA in a
USB-only base
Unit can now dock and communicate in a USB base even if the
Base voltage is below the charging threshold. "LOW BASE" will
be displayed on the LCD in this condition. We recommend
all firmware upgrades are conducted in a USB base with wall
adapter attached.
-WGWEAR-3117 VISTA 1P-SYS When Audio Alert Level is
set to None the unit still plays a beep
Issue: VISTA may play audio and vibrate when the alert audio
level is set to 'No audio' and the alerts configured to
'Audio and Vibration' or 'Audio Only'.
Workaround: Set the AlertType to 2 'Vibration Only' or to
zero 'None' and audible alerts will not be emitted.
-WGWEAR-3111 VISTA XLT - UI: VISTA displays CRITICAL
COMPLETE when uploading only critical events
Issue: When docking in the Wifi base, the VISTA
displays "Critical Complete" before the events have
completed uploading. The transfer station operates
as expected.
Workaround: Ignore the "Critical Complete" message when
docked in the Wifi base and wait for the entire transfer
to complete prior to undocking.
-WGWEAR-3123 VISTA XLT - UI: Battery screen overrides
upload screen when uploading in WiFi Base VISTA may display
'Charging' while mixed events are uploading. The VISTA chimes
and briefly displays 'Upload' once the Critical Event
uploads are complete, and then goes back to the charging
screen.
-WGWEAR-3101 VISTA XLT - UI: Unit fails to transition to MUTE
if on the information sequence screen.
Issue: VISTA XLT will display RECORDING instead of MUTE on
the information sequence screen. When muting is allowed,
start a recording and press the backlight button twice to
enter the information sequence. When holding the backlight
button, VISTA will display RECORDING instead of MUTE. This is
only an issue with the displayed message. The MUTE function
works correctly.
-WGWEAR-3077 VISTA XLT- UI: Upload screen displays incorrect
upload amount
Issue: VISTA upload screen reports 0/0 events when one large
event is created along with multiple small events. No action
or workaround is required by the customer. The actual number
of uploaded events is correct.
-WGWEAR-3098 Screen Rotation When Connected to QuickConnect
Issue: When the QuickConnect cable attaches to the charging
base, the UI display is flipped for a moment before displaying
properly. This defect is visible to the customer, but has no
other negative impact. No customer action is required to
overcome this issue.
-WGWEAR-3092 Backlight Button repeated presses trigger muting
Issue: When the VISTA XLT backlight button is pressed
repeatedly during a recording, the Red RECORD LED flickers
from the backlight button commands, but sometimes will remain
off instead of returning to an ON state as expected.
-WGWEAR-2667 ERR 120 is not always reported when upgrade fails
Issue: VISTA will not always report ERR 120 when a failure to
upgrade occurs due to a corrupted tarball. If this occurs, the
upgrade will not apply and the existing version of firmware will
continue to be used. The firmware version can be viewed on the
display when the unit is removed from the dock.
-WGWEAR-3065 UI: 1-piece camera stops displaying the ERR-277
label after setting device in COVERT mode
Issue: On the VISTA 1-piece, ERR-277 indicating the storage
space is full can be cleared in COVERT mode by pressing the
backlight button. After it has been cleared, the error message
is no longer displayed even though the device storage is full.

3. RELEASE 3-0-2-156
A. FEATURE ADDITIONS
I. VISTA CAMERA
a. Security Features
This product release provides enhanced USB and
network security when used with EL4.3/ELX3.6.
-WGWEAR-3052 VISTA USB Security.
Details: Added the capability to secure VISTA access
through the USB port. Once this firmware is updated
and the VISTA connects to a secure-mode capable EL,
it will no longer be possible to access the device
contents through Windows in mass storage mode.
Once a device is secured, it will no longer work
with the earlier version of EL, and will display
"SECURED" when docked in a USB base.
-WGWEAR-3053 Security Fixes
Details: Closed VISTA tcp ports 60000 and 60010 when
docked on a transfer station.
b. Battery Metrics
This release provides the ability to collect
additional battery charge and discharge
information through EL4.3.
-WGWEAR-3074 Battery Metrics
Details: Added ability to collect additional battery
status information. Utilization of this feature
requires some additional support from Technical
Services.
c. User Interface
This release addresses existing issues with the
user interface and provides a more robust
overall user experience. The number of events
uploaded is now correct, and the behavior when
the 2-piece sensor is disconnected is more
reliable and consistent.
-WGWEAR-3111 VISTA XLT - UI: VISTA displays CRITICAL
COMPLETE when uploading only critical events
Details: VISTA displays "Critical Complete" only
when the critical events have completed uploading.
-WGWEAR-3077 VISTA XLT- UI: Upload screen displays
incorrect upload event amount
Details: The previous firmware release would
incorrectly report the number of events uploading.
The display would read 0/0 or 1/0 events uploading,
although the actual number of events uploaded was
correct. The VISTA now displays the correct number
of events uploading.
-WGWEAR-3007 1P 2P Auto Stop Timer not cleaned
up properly on Covert Exit
Details: When Auto Stop is enabled in Covert mode,
the display is now cleaned up, and the auto stop
timer is no longer shown when exiting Covert mode.
-WGWEAR-3101 VISTA XLT - UI: Unit fails to transition
to MUTE if on the information sequence screen.
Details: VISTA XLT correctly displays "MUTE" during
the information sequence screen when recording.
-WGWEAR-3098 Screen Rotation When Connected to
QuickConnect
Details: When the QuickConnect cable attaches to
the charging base, the UI display is no longer
flipped for a moment before displaying properly.
-WGWEAR-2667 ERR 120 is not always reported
when upgrade fails
Details: VISTA now reports ERR 120 when a failure
to upgrade occurs due to a corrupted tarball. If
this occurs, the upgrade will not apply and the
existing version of firmware will continue to be
used. The firmware version can be viewed on the
display when the unit is removed from the dock.
-WGWEAR-3065 UI: 1-piece camera stops displaying
the ERR-277 label after setting device in COVERT
mode
Details: When ERR-277 indicates the storage is
full in COVERT mode, the message can be
dismissed by pressing the backlight button. If
another recording is attempted, ERR-277 will be
asserted again in covert mode indicating that the
storage is full.
-WGWEAR-3068 VISTA reports LOW BASE if charging
stops due to over temperature
Details: In cases where VISTA has slowed or stopped
charging due to high ambient temperatures, the
display will now show OVERTEMP.
-WGWEAR-3112 Record button behavior
VISTA is now more sensitive to quick presses of the
record button when initiating recordings. A more
deliberate press is still required to stop an active
recording.
-WGWEAR-3312 Red LED is ON when not recording and
off when recording
Details: VISTA will now consistently report the
recording state with the Record/Red LED.
B. BUG FIXES
-WGWEAR-3236 BODY CAMS NTP ~ 90,000 DROP - getting ~90k
drops for ntp from body cams when docked in their transfer
stations.
Details: The VISTA was creating unnecessary network traffic
related to NTP when docked on a transfer station. This
firmware version eliminates this behavior.
-WGWEAR-2092 VISTA may not transfer evidence due to missing
metadata files.
Details: VISTA will generate metadata files reliably under load.
This will prevent issues importing evidence from the device.
-WGWEAR-2378 VISTA Camera should clear WiFi configuration
on checkout
Details: VISTA will now forget WiFi connections to a previous
in-car network when checked out. This will prevent VISTAs
and previously paired devices from collaborating on test
recordings at the station. The previous association is
retained when the VISTA is undocked without a checkout.
-WGWEAR-3404 Dock Type detection improvement
Details: VISTA sometimes detects the incorrect dock type.
This can result in unusual behavior and error messages.
No user action is needed related to this fix, but the user
should experience more reliable behavior, including a
reduction in ERR37 detection when docking on transfer stations.
-WGWEAR-3153 VISTA boot failures
Details: Added firmware mitigation to eliminate the major causes
for failure to boot.
-WGWEAR-3208 Correct ERR302, ERR402, and ERR151
Details: These errors are frequently detected when the sensor is
disconnected and reconnected on the two-piece VISTA. These
failures also occur when undocking a VISTA with certain
configurations, particularly with RATF or pre-event enabled.
-WGWEAR-3371 LOW BASE detection improvements
Details: Display of LOW BASE on VISTA is now consistent and
reliable. This is a user message indicating that the VISTA
is docked in a USB base with an insufficient voltage supply.
When LOW BASE is reported, verify the base is connected to
an external power source.
C. KNOWN ISSUES
-WGWEAR-3123 VISTA XLT - UI: Battery screen overrides
upload screen when uploading in WiFi Base VISTA may display
'Charging' while mixed events are uploading. The VISTA chimes
and briefly displays 'Upload' once the Critical Event
uploads are complete, and then goes back to the charging
screen.
_________________________________________________________________
4. RELEASE 3-0-2-206
A. BUG FIXES
-WGWEAR-3540,WGWEAR-3536 Improve battery charge detection.
Issue: Occasionally, VISTA may report charge is complete and
allow checkout of a unit that has a low level of charge. This
modification will help prevent checkout of units with batteries
that have not been sufficiently charged. No user action is
required.
-WGWEAR-3535 Early battery warnings
Issue: Low battery alerts may occur earlier than expected on
some units. This includes vibration, an audible alert, and
the blinking of the red record led. This modification will
ensure the alerts start when the unit is about to power off
due to detection of low battery.
-WGWEAR-3612,WGWEAR-3613,WGWEAR-3614 Reboot after hard reset
Issue: VISTA reboots after performing a hard reset rather
than shutting down. This can result in the red LED blinking
unexpectedly after undocking. This change corrects the
handling of the reset. No user action is required to benefit
from this change.
_________________________________________________________________
5. RELEASE 3-0-2-209
A. BUG FIXES
-WGWEAR-3660 Dock detection fails after ESD or kernel panic
Issue: When the VISTA reboots due to ESD or detection of a
kernel panic, the dock is no longer detected correctly. This
is corrected with the upgrade to this release, and no
additional user action is required.
-WGWEAR-3661 Dock no longer detected on working unit
Issue: After approximately six weeks of operation, VISTA may no
longer detect that it has been docked. This can be worked
around by performing a hard reset when it occurs. This release
of firmware corrects this issue. If a camera is already
experiencing this issue, the user will need to perform a hard
reset by holding the power button for 15 seconds in order to
dock and receive the firmware update.
-WGWEAR-3678 Undocking during counter rollover
Issue: The VISTA contains an internal counter that rolls over
periodically. If the unit is undocked after the rollover, the
unit may report ERR37 if it was docked in a transfer station,
and will continue to show the standard dock screens if it was
docked in a USB base. Docking the VISTA again will resolve this
behavior. This issue is fully addressed with this release and
requires no additional user action.
_________________________________________________________________
6. RELEASE 3-0-2-213
A. BUG FIXES
-WGWEAR-3714 ESD event mitigation
Issue: ESD events immediately before docking may result in
VISTAs stuck on the BOOTING screen. The correction of this
issue eliminates the need for a hard reset in order to recover.
-WGWEAR-3753 Green Screen for 2 Piece Body Camera
Issue: After the SmartConnect app is used to view videos with
the previous version of firmware, the green screen would be
inserted during the pre-event until the record button is pressed
or the sensor is disconnected and reconnected. Recording now
occurs during pre-event as expected.
