FEATURES I. 4RE a. Networking - Encrypted cellular upload - Support for two EL upload server addresses - DNS Configuration - DHCP Server Configuration - Support SPS upgrade from 4RE b. User Interface - Support for Arabic Languages and Locales - Automatic configuration deployment Prompt added for reboot when configuration changes c. Configuration - MDC Setup scripts for Windows 7 B. ADDITIONS - (ATLAS-4789) Error 26 mitigation. Drives will now be rebooted up to 3 times to try to recover prior to declaring error 26. Note that it will now take significantly longer for the 4RE to display the error #26 pop-up message. When a failure occurs, the 4RE splash screen will appear on the DVR, followed by two reboots with Dark mode turned ON, resulting in the display screen going blank. Following the 3rd reboot, a pop-message indicating error #26 will be displayed. There are typically two conditions where error #26 will occur: a) when a new hard drive is installed b) when the DVR encounters a hard drive communication failure - (ATLAS-4844) Added ability to upgrade the SPS via automatic push of 4RE upgrade package without the need to use a VISTA. - (ATLAS-4611,4717,4718) Added Phase I support for Arabic Languages and locales - (ATLAS-4841) Added support for MDC Setup script in a Windows 7 Environment - (ATLAS-4610,ATLAS-4835) Upload via WiFi or Cellular interchangeably. Added script support to utilize the Miktotik Groove and MDC with an LTE dongle to switch between Cellular and WiFi upload automatically based on WiFi availability. - (ATLAS-3895) Updated version of openSSL to version 1.0.21 - (ATLAS-4919) Support dual path upload by hairpinning directly to an LTE router. A script is available for use with an LTE router that does not support WiFi. - (ATLAS-4742) Added the ability to accept two EL upload server addresses to 4RE. The configuration item to specify the second server is SecondaryBackendServer. - (ATLAS-4723) 4RE will prompt for reboot if configuration items relating to Dvr Ethernet, DHCP, or DNS are updated. This is needed to allow automatic deployment of these configuration items. Previously, rebooting was a manual step that was performed after manual configuration deployment. - (ATLAS-3839) Allow configuration of 4RE as a DHCP server. - (ATLAS-4518) Modified power off sequence of 4RE during brief ignition off sequence. Previously, it was possible to turn off the ignition, press the power off button, and then turn on the ignition, leaving the 4RE in a powered off state. The 4RE will now properly follow the ignition state. - (ATLAS-4615) Confirmed operation of "Headless" 4RE solution controlled through the MDC app rather than the physical display. - (ATLAS-4751) Resolved conflict with EL 3.1.2 that was preventing upload in some cases. - (ATLAS-2368) It is possible to set the DVR IP address from the configuration in ELC. - (ATLAS-4713) Provided information on upgrading Mikrotik Groove radio to eliminate a vulnerability to VPNFilter Botnet Security Issues. - (ATLAS-4343) Fixed a problem where the 4RE ran out of memory in a certain configuration after many days of continuous use. This will improve operation of Interview Room configurations that run for days without powering down. - (ATLAS-4724) Added a default gateway for the 4RE when it is configured to be a DHCP server for the vehicle network. - (ATLAS-4847) Corrected stability problems associated with playback near the end of the available video evidence. C. KNOWN LIMITATIONS - (ATLAS-5020) Future DNS lookups will fail until reboot if DNS lookups continue to fail for an extended period of time. Description: In order for the problem to occur, the primary and secondary DNS servers must be unavailable for more than an hour. Once this issue occurs, the 4RE will not switch back to LTE after uploading events over WiFi. This issue is only present when using hostnames instead of IP addresses for either primary or secondary backend servers. Workaround: Power off the system and restart in order to recover the ability to upload. - ATLAS-5025 Cellular upload over VPN with LTE path only Description: Uploads problems can occur when the user exits and returns to cellular coverage when configured for cellular upload with only an LTE path over a VPN. Workaround: Populate either the BackendServer or BackendServerDomainName configuration field with an unreachable server address or hostname to avoid the issue. If the issue has already been encountered, reboot the 4RE to recover. D. v4.0.7.843 - ATLAS-5035 A DVR with hundreds of events does not complete the upload initiation process before the default EL socket timeout Description: DVRs containing more than 300 events may be unable to upload events over WiFi or LTE. The default EL timeout is 2 minutes for connectivity, and increasing this value in EL will increase the number of events that are supported for upload at the expense of longer delays recovering from upload failures. With the earlier firmware version, it was possible to upload approximately 750 events without issues. This behavior is resolved with the 4.0.7.843 firmware release, and up to 1200 events successfully upload from a single DVR to EL4.4.1. - ATLAS-5037 USB will not mount when 4RE has hundreds of videos and uploads are failing Description: As part of the ATLAS-5035 investigation, an issue was identified with mounting the USB when there are hundreds of videos on the DVR and the wireless upload starts but does not complete successfully. In order to work around this issue, it was possible to (1) disconnect the radio, drive out of range, or change the upload server address, (2) insert a USB after reboot but before the upload cycle, or (3) insert the USB prior to reboot. This issue is fully resolved as part of the 4.0.7.843 firmware, and it is now possible to mount the USB successfully during the upload process. E. v4.0.7.852 - ATLAS-5043 DVR IP issues after 4.0.7 upgrade because of config item being set to DHCPClient true DHCPClient Description: On DVRs that do not have an SPS connected, all of the IP related network information becomes unknown after the unit is upgraded to 4.0.7.843. When the unit is rebooted, it can no longer connect to the server. This behavior is resolved with the 4.0.7.852 firmware release. Upgrading will no longer corrupt the network settings.
